Mini Charity Haul

Happy Friday evening ladies! Hope you have much more exciting plans than myself, watching An Idiot Aboard 2 and eating bad food!

Last couple of days I have been on a bit of a charity spree, which for most of September I haven't had a chance to do, what with saving for other and (slightly) more exciting things!

So here is the haul:

Picked up these to at Barnardos. I know we are in the middle of an incredible heat wave for this time of year but apparently the winter and the snow is coming and coming soon and I couldn't be less ready. I know a lot of people have a "summer and winter wardrobe" and I ask those people how?! My "Winter" wardrobe consist of this coat in Camel (which will not be replaced due to it costing a small fortune) and a hat. I picked up this Primark striped jumper and brand new H&M striped cardigan for £1.99 each. Hoping these will keep me warm... Haha!

Picked up these Soap & Glory Body Butter and Body Butter Deluxe (brand new by the way!) from Cancer Research. They are beyond gorgeous and the formula is very thick. I also popped in to boots earlier and the "Daily Smooth Body Butter" is £10.91 alone. I paid £1 each!

Pick this lovely necklace up today from St Peters Hospice. It is hallmarked silver and very pretty iridescent. It was £6 which is pricey but for silver I think it is an OK price to pay.

Picked this up for the boy, It's a shark stapler! I think he was impressed... (not sure how impressed as I always bring him back something or another back from my charity shop adventures) I think it was worth 75p!

This wasn't from a chairty shop but it is really cute! Popped to Ikea today to get Ali some storage boxes and I needed somewhere to dry socks and the like and I cannot resist something animal themed! £4.79

Hope you have all had a good week! Also this is my 100th post! Thank you to the people that actually read this, I am surprised anyone wants to read my rambling!

Bristol Aquarium - A Review In Pictures

Evening ladies, hope the week is treating you well!

Today the boy & me made an impromptu trip to Bristol Aquarium after a morning of sitting and playing Mario Kart and feeling fed up & bored. I had fancied a trip as it has changed from the former Bristol Wild Walk (featuring a butterfly walk) to Bristol Aquarium since I was last living in Bristol.

The Aquarium is located on the Harbour side
so for the local girls that read this blog, you already know that is pretty much in the city centre. Quick and easy to locate which is always a plus.
Tickets for adults are £13.50, Students £12.50, which I feel is slightly pricey as Bristol Zoo is about the same price and also has an Aquarium as well as other animals and attractions. Although the Imax is included in the ticket and you can see as many as you want throughout the day.

So here are photos from the day, some of them are a little dark but I took the Canon so I think they turned out OK.

Although it was a fun day out I think if I would return it would be with a coupon, as it is fairly short and I think it's kind of pricey. I definitely enjoyed the Sting Ray & Turtle pool but I did feel it came to an abrupt end. The Imax was also enjoyable as it is the middle of the week it was empty and the film was obviously Shark Themed.

Also, as I never do this, I thought I would share today's outfit post as it has been a better one of recent.

Cardigan: Monsoon - an eye watering £55
Dress: Tesco's Sale - was something like £9
Bag: Cath Kidston English Bird Bag, £33.33 (I remember this because I found it amusing) from Heathrow Airport

Glasses: Vivenne Westwood Via TK MAXX, £15 (and because I get my lens for free they cost less than an NHS pair!) probably my all time best bargain!

So my lovely ladies, have you been and what did you think?

Recent Beauty Buys

Evening special ladies! Tonight I thought I would share with you some favourite beauty buys of recent.

I have been on a slight beauty binge recently. Having had little luck finding any decent Autumn/Winter clothes I even vaguely like I have turned to beauty products for that quick pick me up feeling.

This was today's beauty haul courtesy of Superdrug and there tempting special offers. Left to right we have Garnier Pure Deep Clean Foam wash on offer for £1.95, Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Lusciously Long Deep Treatment on offer for 2 for £5.99, Aquafresh Extreme Mouthwash on offer for £1.29, Superdrug Orange & Satsuma and Strawberry and Raspberry shower gels on offer for 2 for £1.45 and Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo again on offer for 2 for £5.99. Not a bad lot for £10.72!

Next up is a purchase from Friday, this is Rub Rub Rub from Lush. This is an utterly beautiful product. I popped in to Lush with Ali to help her pick out a birthday present. After a quick sad sigh at the bath bombs (I no longer have a bath) we were browsing the other items a lovely sales assistant came over to tell us about them. I wasn't really in the market for a large tub of shower scrub but 1) it looks like a blue slush puppy and 2) when she demonstrated the product for me her hand came away so soft I had to have it. And trust me for £7.75 a pot it really did feel amazing. The product itself smells fairly fruity with a hint of lemon. The mix is fairly coarse with large bits of sea salt. This scrub can also be used on hair to give it volume but I will not be doing this as apparently it will strip hair colour! The other plus of this product is after giving it a couple of days of testing you need very little, a small amount on a flannel will lather up nicely and you can do your whole body.

Next up, the much raved about Garnier B.B Miracle Skin Perfector. I know this product and several like it have been making there way round many, many blogs but I thought I would way in with my opinion. I had been umming and arring over this product for a while and finally took the plunge. There were a couple of reasons I was hesitant to purchase this product, 1) I am not a fan of foundation, I find it really bothering and cakey 2) The colour is a bit off, the "light" is fairly dark in my opinion 3) The price is a little eye watering for such a new product (well new to the U.K) £9.99 for 50mls. The latter reason was some what calmed when I saw it on offer for £7.99 in Superdrug. Reasons 1 and 2 were also some what squashed when I realised that it smelt divine and was fairly lightweight, I also realised that you could blend it quite nicely. So far I have only worn it twice but I am fairly impressed. I wore it to my friends wedding this weekend and I felt fairly ill and my skin was a horrible mess, a small blob of this and I think it turned out O.K.

I know I have already used this photo of me but I think my skin looks quite even for how bad it looked earlier in the day! Although I quite like this product I am excited to see what other brands will bring out as its early days for B.B cream.

Would love some recommendations for any great beauty items if anyone has any? Hope everyone has had a happy Monday!

Week In Instagram's

Hello ladies! Sorry for the lack of post this week it has been a busy one!

1. Monday was my birthday so fun start to the week! This was my cake made by my boyfriend.

2. Amazing glittery unicorn card from Ali.

3. I am in love with my new Chanel nail varnish Jade Rose (I love it when things have my name!) it's a really lovely muted colour which is great for everyday wear.

4. This week has seen a lot of shopping, purchased this mirror from Evolution (I am not sure if they have Evoultion anywhere but Bristol?). I am in love with this mirror, I also sort of needed one having only one in the bathroom above the toilet (our bathroom is teeny tiny, its an en suite). It was £18 which is maybe slightly expensive for a fairly small mirror but I love it!

5. Yesterday we went to a wedding for an old family friend of mine in my home town Worthing which was lovely but I was also slightly ill and it involved 2 and a half hours in a car each way (not good when your feeling sick!) with 3 of us squashed in the back seat! Later in the day there was an hour "free" when the happy couple went to having wedding photos taken on the beach. Kyle had never been to Worthing, much less on the pier so I took him to see the wonders. After a quick look about I settled on a quick go on the claw machine with the Toy Story 3 softies in (Toy story is my favourite film of all time). I popped in 20p, aimed, slammed the arrows and waited for it to come away fruitless. Not this time! The claw came up holding bullseye by the leg, so I thought "oh it will let go". It didn't, he was ferried quickly to the hole! This was even funnier as earlier in the day I had been bragging that I was really good at claw machine and the boyfriend said the usual chorus of "there scams" etc. Proved him wrong! Kyle, my mum and I couldn't stop laughing!

6. Oh and another one! Well actually another 2, I text my little sister to see if she wanted to come and play after she said "It's rubbish godddddd!" (pure teenager) after telling her I won something she hurried over, where I won 2 more Jessy dolls so I gave her one! The staff looked dismayed!

7. After getting back home after 2 A.M this morning I have spent most of today sleeping, so playing these 3 for the rest of the day seems to be the ticket (might be nursing slight hangovers!)

Birthday #22

Evening ladies!

Yesterday I celebrated my 22 birthday in the usual style, presents, playing with said presents and then went out for a meal in the evening, you know, usual birthday style things.

Oh and there was cake, this cake in fact!

Yes, it's a Totoro cake! The boyfriend made me it while I was out shopping on Sunday (I may of helped him out a little bit with the flowers and the tree!)

Oh no! The Totoro was made of a doughnut which was maybe a little distressing when I cut in to it!

Thought I would share a couple of my very favourite gifts with you!

My lovely boyfriend got me a Wii and Mario Kart for my birthday (I know they have been around forever but I have never got around/had the money to get one!) He also got a second wheel so we can both play with one, and we have been extensively!

If you read this blog from time to time you might know that I am an avid Alessi fan. The boyfriends mum sent me this Alessi monkey salt/pepper/spice grinder and I am in love!

Love these & they match my bag. Cath Kidston pin brooches from the boyfriends sister.

Love love love this watch! Double face owl watch from Aldo from Ali. It is beautiful, I really love the long cross strap too!

Thomas Sabo bow charm from my friend Chez, I really love how simple it is, it's really beautiful.

Last night we went to Pizza Express, drank, ate and was merry, It was lovely!

Mmm Pizza <3

Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

Week In Instagram's!

My goodness is it Sunday already?! When did that happen!

Thought I would share my week's Instagram's with you lovely lot! It has been an odd week, trying to re adjust to my routine back in merry Britannia along with a killer case of jet lag (I did it all very wrong!)

1. Eating Lucky Charms to cheer myself up from post holiday blues!

2. I have been suffering this week from jet lag, meaning a lot of sleepless nights, luckily I have Piggy to keep me company (my other half has to get up at 5.45am for work so he has to go to bed at 11pm)
3. I was very excited when I got my own last name in Scrabble!

4. Went out for lunch with friends on Wednesday and we saw a low flying hot air balloon going over the waterfront as the sun went down. Very romantic!

5. Purchased a frame from the charity shop hoping it would fit my photo of Ali and I from Ripleys Believe It Or Not of us sat on the girder with the skyline behind us (tacky but I loves it) hoping it would fit and it's perfect! Not to shabby for £1! I have added it to my "New York" collection.

6. Catterpillar cake at my mum's on Saturday for my birthday as she is working the full day on Monday.

7 & 8. Eating all the goodies I brought back with me! Runts and Peanut Butter M&M's.

9. Went shopping with my Mum and little Sister today, went to the Mall Cribbs Causeway first thing to avoid avid Sunday shoppers. My mum brought some Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, and she always asks for samples! Luckily she doesn't want these ones!

10. As it's my birthday tomorrow & we are all off to a friends wedding next weekend, my mum treated me to this beautiful but ever so expensive cardigan from Monsoon (find it via this link if your interested). It has beautiful star sequins throughout the body and sleeves. It was a toe curling £55 though so I am going to be extremely careful when washing this!

So that has been my week! I am off celebrating tomorrow night for the birthday, so will probably blog again on Tuesday full of remorse!

Hope you have all had a good week!
