Highlights Of 2011

Hello ladies! 2012 is merely hours away & I have been reflecting on the year that has passed. It has been a busy year for me, I have changed jobs & changed cities. I love to reflect with photos, so in no particular order, here are my highlights of 2011!

Moving back to Bristol, my home town.

Valentines Day. Quiet night in with the boy. It was perfect.

Catching the bouquet (after she threw it at me!) at our friends wedding. Followed by an hilarious evening of "it will be you next".

Visiting London with Ali. Having breakfast at fifteen which is Jamie Oliver's restaurant where he employees 15 young people without jobs and trained them in cooking. Shopping in Camden, always a fun day out! Lusting after massive Totoro's inside Camden market. We also went to see Wicked which was amazing!

Visiting Bristol Zoo with the boy. Feeding Lorikeets & watching fur seals do tricks. We were given a year membership for Bristol Zoo for Christmas and I can't wait to go back!

Turning 22. Not really a milestone birthday, but a milestone in me throwing myself round the flat pretending I am playing tennis! Amazing cake kyle made me!

For me, 2011 will always be the year I went to New York with my best friend. I have always wanted to go, and the city did not disappoint. I will always remember looking at the Statue of Liberty from the boat and just being mesmerised. It was the holiday of a life time.
So, it's been a pretty good year! As for 2012, I am always worried about saying "it will be a great year!" so far in advance, but I have a lovely boyfriend & amazing friends. 2012, bring it on!

Hope you have a lovely New Years Eve, my only advice? Never take on resolutions that you know you cannot stick to, no one should start the New Year feeling disappointed with themselves!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sale's Haul!

Hello ladies!

I can't believe that 2011 is nearly over, it feels like it only just started! Post Christmas blues have fully set in and I have been remedying it the best way I know how, by hitting the shops! So here's the haul!

Accessorize:

Picked these up in the mini store in Manchester Picadilly on the way home from Christmas up north. I had been in love with the socks since I very first spotted them and was glad I managed to get a pair. The giraffe necklace I had also been eyeing for a while so at half price it was meant to be! I added the sea horse socks in for good measure. All together it came to just over £6 which was the same price as the necklace at full price.

Paperchase:

I always hit up Paperchase in the sale to pick up my Christmas cards to next year. This year I picked up a big pack of 40 which should last me almost 2 years which isn't bad for £1.50. I also picked up the little snow man decoration for £1 as I have a collection of the Paperchase soft decorations. I also picked up a tea and coffee utensil holder I had been eyeing up for a while for £5.

Boots:

I never do particularly well in the Boots sale, I think that if you want to get the Marc Jacobs gift sets you have to be willing to be up first thing on boxing day, which as my last three Christmas's I have been in a tiny village in the middle of no where just isn't an option. I did however pick up this cute little Hello Kitty Liberty eye shadow palette for £4 which I was pretty pleased with.

Lush:

I love Lush, and the sale only sweetens the deal! As much as I would love to stock up on hundreds of bath bombs and bubble bars, with out a bath it seems pretty pointless so I was pretty controlled. I picked up the snow fairy lip tint after tasting Ali's - it is beautiful, and 100 grams of the Snow Globe soap which has a lovely lemony smell. And, even though I have 2 bottles, I couldn't stop myself buying another small snow fairy shower gel!

Game:

OK, so this was technically in the sale, but I did buy it yesterday and it was £10 off.. that is a weak justification if ever I heard one! I had been lusting after the 3DS since I first heard about Mario 3D Land. As a child, a teen and now as an adult I have probably spent more time being a plumber on a mission to rescue his drama queen girl friend than I have spent being myself! As I had to have a pink one (I had a pink DS so I obviously had to have the same again..) I opted for the bundle as that is the only way you could get one! This was a combo of Christmas money, a gift from Kyle and some of my own money. I am very impressed with it so far, as it has a lot of fun features just built in to the console, such as augmented reality games, they really have "upgraded" from the DS. I will be doing a review with this in the new year, along with a review of the Kindle.

So that the lot! Apart from the 3DS (which I had planned to buy any way) I feel I have been quite controlled this year. but mainly I haven't seen a lot I liked, I didn't like the clothes running up to Christmas and I don't like them now they are cheap and ever so slightly damaged due to the sheer volume of people trying them on. I have always been a S/S girl, as I prefer pretty dresses to practical warm clothes any day, any freezing day at that!

Hope everyone is coping with the post Christmas blues!

Christmas Gifts

Hello ladies. Thought I would share a couple of pictures of some of my lovely Christmas gifts. I love reading these posts so thought I would pop up my own. This year I didn't really ask for a *main* present, just a few little bits and pieces as I am well aware that no one has much money! I was really happy with what I received, as I am all about it's the thought that counts!

Just a few of the things I got from Ali, including a Toy Story Alien night light, a pig soap on a rope, froggy earrings and a Bullseye and Rex vinylmations (I love love LOVE Toy Story) she got me far to many things this year, including Sea Monkeys, Mario Galaxy, Smooth Moves & Hotel Chocolat Tiddly Penguins, NOM!

Spongebob Calendar from Kyles mum, I always get a calender for Christmas and she always picks well!

Another couple of bits from Kyle's mum, stickers, a note book, a pen & a kitty money bank all from Paperchase. All things I love, and I had been eyeing up the money bank for a couple of weeks!

Russian doll chopping board and wooden spoon from Kyle's Grandma (This may be a slight theme... haha)

Hannah Makes Things Deer necklace from Kyle's mum

Another gift from Kyle's Mum (because she is the best) Snow Fairy gift set - wonderful for me as I don't have a bath :(

DCI Russian Doll (told you there was a theme!) headphone's from Kyle's little sister, which are brilliant because mine are broken, but also how cute. A Pusheen Plush from Kyle, which may seem a little odd but he is an animation drawn by a talented lady and I think she is beyond cute. If you haven't heard of / seen Pusheen you can see all of them here at the official site.

An utterly beautiful Emma Bridgewater Cocoa mug from Kyle!

Very lucky girl - TWO OPI'S! One from Kyle and the other from his sister, Rainbow Connection (I wonder how many people got this for Christmas?!) and Gone Gonzo.

Lovely Pip Alessi Keyring from Kyle. It's a mousey! And It's a shiny mousey!

Tatty Devine fox necklace from Kyle. It is stunning but I was really annoyed when I found out that the clasp was broken. This is the second Tatty Devine necklace that I have had turn up broken! I have put it on another chain and I sent them an email yesterday to tell them how displeased I was!

And finally my Lovely Kindle from Kyle's dad (who lives in the USA so I got it a bit early, as the Amazon book came with my name on after I had ordered Kyle a book he wanted and I really wasn't expecting it!) and a spotty Kindle case from my Dad. I am going to write a review of the Kindle at some point soon.

Apart from that I got the normal fare - chocolate orange & coins, socks, hand cream, shower gels and so on. I always find Christmas stocks me up of shower stuff for the rest of the year. You also may of noticed that I didn't receive any clothes - and that is because I never ask for them! I think I may be the only person who prefers getting things for the flat rather than things for me! I love jewellery and make up, but clothes I really can take or leave, probably why I am not a fashion blogger!

So that's it! Christmas is already starting to feel like a far off memory and I am defiantly feeling the post Christmas blues - which I am trying to remedy with buying lots of lovely things in the sales, which so far I have been quite impressed with - post coming soon!

Hope every one is coping with the post Christmas hang over!

Christmas 2011

Just a few snaps of my Christmas. We have been up north for the last few days and we have returned full of food and laden with gifts. I love reading everyone's Christmas posts and will be popping up a "what I got for Christmas" post soon as I love reading everyone else's (because I am nosey!) so if you have done one leave me a link!

Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas!
