July Empties

Hello lovelies.

I have come to end of a lot of half used products this month, so I have lots of empties to share with you lovely lot today!

My empties overflowing from the large Primark make up bag I keep them in!

Shower Gels. I do tend to go through quite a lot of shower gel as I only have a shower!

One. Soap & Glory Foam Call.
This was a freebie from Boots when you spent £15 or more on Soap & Glory in April. Its a massive 500ml bottle that has literally lasted for months. Although the scent was quite pleasant I am so glad to see the back of this, for two reasons, after several months of the same scent I was truly sick of it, and the pump top was broken so I had to push it down and back up every time I wanted to use it. I don't think I'd buy it again.

Two. ASOS Anatomicals White Lily Shower Gel.
Although this smelt quite pleasant in the bottle, I have to say it is one of the worst shower gel scents I have ever come across. It was far far to floral smelling. It smelt like every bad cheap air freshener I've ever had the misfortune of smelling! I ended up using massive massive amounts of it just to get rid of it! I would never repurchase this shower gel and its slightly put me off the brand altogether!

Three. The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel.
My all time favourite, already planning to repurchase next month as I have a voucher to use.

Four. Philosophy Snow Angel Shower Gel.
I know, I know it's July and this is a Christmas product, BUT I bought this in a charity shop brand new for 50p. It smells really nice, but not what I was expecting, it kind of smells like watermelon! Its a thick grey colour with lots of glitter. I was maybe repurchase this at Christmas but I know Philosophy isn't known for its bargain prices!

Five. The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom.
I took this mini bottle away with me when I went to see my boyfriends family. Although it was quite nice it was extremely sweet smelling and kind of got a little sickly towards the end. I don't think I would repurchase.

Shampoo & Conditioner. Again, lots of these!

Six. Fruit Essence Conditioner.
The Boots version of Herbal Essences, it costs just over £1 and I'm always looking for a conditioner that doesn't cost the earth but does the job. This isn't it. It was really runny and I had a hard job getting it from the bottle to my hair with out dropping at least half of it. It also left my hair feeling like straw (it's natural state!) so all over it was a disappointment. I wouldn't repurchase, not even for a quid.

Seven. Raspberry & Macadamia Shampoo.
This is just a cheapy shampoo from Superdrug, at full price its around £1.50 but it's often on offer for around 80p, but it's bloody brilliant. It's a great consistency and it leaves my hair feeling soft & clean. It's also not tested on animal which is fab. I would repurchase, I often stock up when its on offer.

Eight. Johnnson's Baby Shampoo.
I originally picked this up to wash my brushes with, but I measured out a part of it in a travel bottle & used the rest as shampoo. I've always really liked using baby shampoo as it's really soft & gentle. This was also on offer in Superdrug for £1! Score. I would repurchase but only when I need more brush wash.

Nine. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle.
My favourite hair care product, this seems to feature on my empties every month! I need to repurchase this soon as my hair is screaming out for me.

Ten. Aussie Leave In Conditioner.
This has a double use for me as it works as a detangler as well as a leave in conditioner which is a bonus. I have already bought another of this as it's around £3.50 but lasts months and months even on my thick hair.  Always repurchase.

Scrubs. I love a good scrub!

Eleven. Dirty Works Sole Sister Foot Scrub.
I threw this in to my basket at Sainsburys on a whim. I didn't really need it but the vintage style packaging caught my eye & so did the half price offer. It was an extremely thick cream with large chunks of scrub in. It worked well and the minty scent cooled my tootsies off. I would possibly repurchase if it was on offer.

Twelve. St Ives Apricot Scrub.
This is a scrub I am familiar with from my teen years, but it's recently undergone a redesign and this was a freebie from their Facebook page. It's slightly more scrubby than I remember. It was nice but nothing particularly special. As I like scrubs that are quite rough it didn't really do enough for me. I don't think I'd repurchase but I would possibly if it was cheap (haha how much of a penny pincher do I sound!).

Skincare Samples. I always ask for samples of skincare as most companies are more than willing to give them away.

Thirteen. L'Occitane Protective Lotion.
A sampe I was given when I purchase a few bits in store, it was nice. But just nice. I have several samples of this cream but I don't think I'd purchase the full size because with all L'Occitane skincare the size of the product for the money is a bit out of my budget.

Fourteen. SKIN BB Cleanser.
I received these with my recent Tonymoly order, and at thought it was a standard BB cream but on further inspection I realised it was a cleanser! It was one of the most amazing cleansers I've ever used, as when you are rubbing it in it bubbles on the skin. It left my skin feeling really soft & clean I would seriously consider ordering the full sized.

Fifteen. Benefit B.Right It's Potent eye cream.
My favourite eye cream of all time. I have a little pot of this and when that runs out I am going to consider purchasing the full size, even though it's around £25 which is just an eye watering amount for an eye cream.

Sixteen. Lush Dream Cream.
I liked this product, but I didn't love it. It's like a thick Steam Cream which I already have two tins of, so I don't think I'd purchase the full size.

Seventeen. Jane Packer Green Tea & Lemongrass Eau De Parfum.
My sister gave me this after saying she didn't really like it, and I can see why. It was one of the most potent perfumes I've had in a long time. Because the lemongrass overpowered the green tea it kind of smelt like most cleaning products, but extremely strongly. I ended up using it as a room spray as one spritz made the whole house smell of lemons. Deffo wouldn't repurchase!

Hand Creams. I love hand creams so I tend to go through at least one a month.

Eighteen. The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Hand Cream.
This was a stocking present from Christmas and I've only just got around to using it up! I'm usually not a fan of vanilla scents but this was actually really nice, a really gentle vanilla scent. I absorbed nicely and I'd possibly repurchase if it's released again for Christmas.

Nineteen. Soap & Glory Hand Food.
My favourite hand cream to date. I always buy the mini one as I find it much easier to carry around in my bag. I need to get to Boots to buy another!

Make Up. I tend to use make up a lot for a little while and then it sits in my make up bag half empty, so I often don't have empties, but I've used up three this month!

Twenty. No7 Concealer.
This one is a bit of cheat but I spotted it in my make up bag & thought back to when I bought it, which was a good two nearly 3 years a go so I decided it was time for it to go! I wouldn't repurchase as it's quite cakey and low quality.

Twenty One. Benefit Porefessional Sample.
I do really love this primer, but I'm starting to think I should try something else! I have another two tubes of this size so when I finish this I might investigate my options, but I would possibly purchase the full size.

Twenty Two. Chanel Mascara Sample.
I loved this sample, it was perfect. The wand was a really good size and shape and it was buildable without leaving lashes looking spidery. I am considering buying the full size when my next mascara runs out, but it's nearly £25 worth of mascara so it may have to wait a few months!

Skincare. As a skincare junkie I do tend to go through a lot of it!

Twenty Three. Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean.
I can't decide if I love or hate this product! I go back and forth on it constantly. Although it left my skin feeling clean I wasn't keen on the scent and it was a little too thick and creamy for my liking. I don't think I'd repurchase as I am so on fence about it!

Twenty Four. Murad Anti Ageing Acne Cleanser.
I won this product in a Glamour magazine giveaway last month. It's a tiny little 50ml cleanser so it didn't last as long as I would like, but it did make my skin feel incredibly clean. I wouldn't repurchase as it costs £5.50 for this tiny little 50ml one, but it was nice to try.

Twenty Five. Boots Cucumber Eye Gel.
A nice product but not a great one. My eyes get a little saw with hay fever during the summer months so I went through this very quickly! I'd repurchase this for my hay fever as its quite inexpensive.

Twenty Six. Benefit B.right Moisture Prep Toner.
I loved this product, it has more of gel like consistency rather than a water one and it's incredibly cooling on the skin. I would consider purchasing the full size even though, as with all the Benefit skin care, it is expensive.

Twenty Seven. The Body Shop Facial Brush.
I love this brush & can't recommend it enough! It lasted around 2 months before the bristles because too fluffy to use but at £3 each they are very inexpensive. I've already repurchased and I think I wil be doing every 2 or so months!

Phew, 27 empties this month! A huge amount & a huge post!

What have you ladies used up this month?

July Favourites

Hello lovely ladies.

July has come and gone, but this month has seemed to go on forever for me! I'm pretty sure it's at least October in my mind! This month I've found quite a few new favourite products, so here they are.

6 fairly new products I've added to my ever growing pile, but 6 new favourites none the less.

One. Lush Eau Roma Water Toner.
I find most toners are too heavy on my skin but this one is so light and fresh it's just lovely, a blessing during last weeks hot weather!

Two. L'Occitane Cherry Princess hand cream.
A really light cream that absorbs really quickly, it's great for when your hands need a little something but a heavy hand cream just lingers on the skin.

Three. The Body Shop Mango Body Mist.
During the hot weather all my perfumes felt way way to heavy, but this body mist is so light and so fresh, its like the smell of summer in a body mist!

Four. Chit Chat Juicy Stick, reviewed here.
I've only had this for around a week, but I've found myself reaching for it every day. Its really easy to wear as it's a very soft colour, great for every day wear. It's my favourite bargain this month!

Five. Macadamia Healing Oil.
I purchased this from The Sunday Girls blog sale a while back, and really didn't want to like it. But I did, and I still do. My hair is very dry from years and years of dyeing it and only having it cut when I really have to, but this oil makes my hair feel soft and almost half human which is fab! I've just purchased a 125ml from Buyapowa so I will be reviewing it soon.

Six. NARS Orgasm Blush, reviewed here.
I cannot say enough good things about this blusher. I have worn it almost every day since I bought it a while back. I can see me needing to buy another of these in the not too distant future.

So those are my favourite for July, what products have you been loving this month?

P.S A big thank you to everyone that has entered my giveaway so far, if you haven't yet you can do here :)

Kitten Captures Of The Week

Hello lovely ladies.

Its been a pretty hot week this week, and I am going to throw an unpopular opinion out there, I don't like it. Don't get me wrong it's nice it's not raining and all that, but I can't stand being too hot, and by too hot I mean any more than 15 degrees. It makes me extremely grumpy and irritable. To rectify this we went out on Tuesday to buy a fan, and fast than I could say "wheres the bit that holds that bit in to this bit!" Tuna was rustling behind me...

Tuna: I love boxes. Every time my humans have something new I get right in the box. I like to give them a good bite as they all taste different. After a while I'll have a little nap, then loose interest, as it's not new then!

Hope you're all having lovely Sundays!

Lush Emotional Brilliance 200 Followers Giveaway

Hello lovely ladies!

I recently hit just over 200 followers, and as a massive thank you to every single one of you that reads my crazy ramblings, I have a (what I think!) is quite an exciting giveaway for you all!

(Image from Lush)

I've decided to giveaway 1 item from the new Lush Emotional Brilliance range! It has been talked about constantly for the last couple of weeks, but as the range is quite expensive I thought I'd give you lovely lot the chance to have one for free!

I thought about going and buying one of the items & giving it away, but with such a range of colours I thought that it might not be to everyone's taste, so, I am giving you the choice!

Have a little browse here for the Liquid Lips, Eyeliners & Cream Eyeshadows Liners & here for the Colour Supplements & Mascara and tell me in the comments which one you would like! I will purchase the winners pick (don't worry if you change your mind or if you end up buying it yourself, I will confirm it with the winner) with my own money up to the value of £14.50.

This giveaway is only open to U.K entrants as I can't post internationally. Giveaway open until August 25th.

Good luck!

Chubby Stick Dupe - Chit Chat Juicy Stick

Hello lovely ladies.

I mentioned earlier in the week that in my Poundland haul I had picked up a Chit Chat in Juicy Stick in Peony, which from the packaging alone looked like a clear dupe from Clinques Chubby Stick, so I thought I'd do a little review of it.

Even from the packet it looks so similar to the Chubby Stick!

The packaging is a thick plastic, with a clear plastic lid. The product screw up from the bottom. The only slight complaint about the packaging is that the Juicy Stick wobbles from side to side as it doesn't fit particularly well, but if you turn it upside down it stays in place so its not too bad!

As with the Chubby Stick the stick is shaped lip a thick crayon, for easy application. My only worry about this is using one side more than the other and ending up cutting the end off by accident! So on to the swatches!

The colour, Peony, is a soft pink. Once I applied it to the lips I became extremely impressed with this lovely little Poundland purchase! The Stick is very balm and leaves just the right amount of colour. It doesn't feel sticky at all (which I personally cannot stand!). After an hours there's still a good amount of product left of my lips & they felt extremely moisturized. Double thumbs up! But is it a dupe?

(Photo via here)

The above photo is of the Clinque Chubby Stick in Pudgy Peony. I have swatched it on my hand in store previously and the colour is almost exactly the same, the Clinque version is slightly darker. The Clinques Chubby Stick is (pardon the pun) slightly fatter, and of course the packaging for the Chubby Stick is more luxurious than the Chit Chat version, but seeing as you could buy 16 Chit Chat Juicy Sticks for the same price as 1 Chubby Stick, I think I'll stick with the Chit Chat.

Chit Chat Juicy Sticks are available from Poundland nation wide, available in several other colours, which I will be picking up as soon as I can, I couldn't recommend these enough!

Have you tried any Chit Chat products? Have I tempted you to give the purse a rest?

Save, Spend Or Splurge - Pink Glitter Nail Varnish

Hello lovely ladies.

Another save, spend or splurge for you today. Second to my love of multi coloured glitter nail varnish, is pink glitter nail varnish! Its pretty, sparkly and oh so girly. So here's my save, spend or splurge!

Left to right, OPI Teenage Dream, Topshop Nails in Adrenailin & Chit Chat in Pink.

Chit Chat nail varnish in Pink - £1.
Poundland strikes again! After weeks of only having the blue glitter I blogged about here, my local one is now stocking a whole variety of them. I applied two coats of the nail varnish, and as you can see there are small dots of glitter mixed in with some larger hexagons. As with the last Chit Chat nail varnish I blogged about the glitter to clear nail varnish ratio is slightly off, as the clear varnish is quite runny its hard to hold much glitter on the brush. But for a whole pound its a nice hot pink colour, which will be pretty layered over another colour.

Topshop Nails in Adrenailin - £6.00
Topshop really are trying to be the high street go to for make up, and for the most part they are succeeding. I saw Adrenailin on the website a while back and was in store as fast as I could hop on the bus. Baby pink with glitter? Yes please! As this was the first Topshop nail varnish I'd bought I was surprised by how good the quality was, it applies smoothy and only takes 2 coats to get a full coverage, it also lasted for days without chipping, deffo £6 well spent.

OPI in Teenage Dream - £10.95 / £12.99.
This one will vary in price as its last years Katy Perry collection and the only place to get it is eBay. This is probably one of my favourite nail polishes ever. Its a very light baby pink with lots of small dots of pink glitter in. Again with the two above I applied two layers of this, but you could get away with one if you wanted to. I can't recommend this nail varnish enough!

Left to right: Chit Chat in Pink, Topshop in Adrenailin & OPI Teenage Dreams. The last two are quite similar to each other, so if you don't fancy paying out for Teenage Dream Adrenailin is pretty close! Chit Chat is quite different as it's a hot pink but as a top coat it will be really eye catching!

So that's my save, spend or splurge for pink glitters, any more pinks glitters I should keep my eye out for?

Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream

Hello lovelies.

Although I've only recently rediscovered Burt's Bees its becoming one of my firm favourite brands. I picked up a hand care gift set on eBay a while a go, which contained the Beeswax & Banana hand cream, and I just loved it! I decided as I was running low to pick up the full size & do a little review!

The hand cream goes in a thick glass pot with a tin lid. I adore the packaging, bananas & bees! The hand cream is 100% natural, BUAV approved, and contains among other things, sweet almond oil & aloe vera.I personally prefer natural ingredients, and a BUAV approval will always get my attention.

It took me a good ten minutes to find a cream that someone hadn't stuck there fingers in (seriously, whoever does that please stop!) and for that reason I do prefer when there is a foil lid as I find it's a bit more hygienic.

The cream is incredibly thick so you only need the tiniest amount of the product, the amount of my fingers will do both sides of your hands and leave them nice and soft. The scent is strongly banana at first but as you rub it in it fades more towards a beeswax scent. If your not a fan of banana scents it will not be for you, as it smells almost exactly the same as a banana milkshake!

Overall I am really really pleased with this product. I don't often re buy products as I like to try lots of different products, but this one could possibly be my new go to hand cream!

Available from Boots, retailing at £9.99 for 55 grams.

Do you ladies like Burt's Bees? Do you have any recommendations?

Lush Rocketeer Bath Bomb

Hello lovely ladies.

As many of you might know, I don't have a bath at home. We have a freestanding shower which does the job, but I miss a bath almost every day! So every time we go away I make sure I get at least one bath bomb from Lush to have whilst I can!

This time I picked the Rocketeer, as the shape was super cute. It originally released just for Christmas but they have added it to the permanent collection of bath bombs. The idea of this bath bomb is that it will whizz around the bath like a rocket, snazzy!

When you first plonk it in to the water the colours start to melt, letting out blue, yellow and green in to the water. The scent is very subtle, sweet yet slightly lemony. According to the Lush website the creator wanted it to smell like Candy Sticks, which I guess it kind of does. The bath bomb also contains popping candy, to help it move around the bath.

I have to admit, this bath bomb was a little bit of a disappointment in that the apparent whizzing around, is more of a slow melting. The yellow parts of the Rocketeer burn off to leave little yellow trails around the bath, like jet fuel. The bath bomb does move a bit, but more with the moment of the water rather than independent movement. Although it isn't that bad that it doesn't move Lush describe it like this "Drop one on the surface of your bathwater then lie back and watch take off." which to me is a little misleading and I have to say that it was the sole reason I picked it rather than a sweeter smelling one. This is also the second attempt at this bath bomb, so maybe third times the charm?

Once the bath bomb has completely dissolved it leaves the water a greeny blue, smelling slightly more lemony with a thin layer of foam.

To be honest, it was just ok. The idea of it whizzing around the bath sounded exciting, but after that wasn't happening I started to get annoyed it was taking so long to dissolve! I ended up crushing the last part in my hand to get it to dissolve. I don't think I would repurchase this one as I prefer sweeter scents, but who knows, lets see if they give it a third go!

Available from in store or via the website here.

Have you tried the Rocketeer? Did you find the whizzing claims a bit of a tall tale?
