June Empties

Hello lovelies.

I know I know, the end of June is here already! So here is what I've finished this month!

One. Bomb Cosmetics Strawberry Fields Soap.
I adore Bomb Cosmetics soaps. They smell amazing, they last for ages & they are around £2.50, I've got a few of these stashed away in various fragrances!

Two. The Body Shop Mango Soap.
Another favourite. I stock up on these soaps when The Body Shop has its various sales

Three. Bath & Body Works Bali Mango Body Lotion.
I cannot rate Bath & Body Works products highly enough. So highly scent, really gets the jobs done! I actually have another 3 small bottles & 1 large bottle in different fragrances stashed away, get me to America before I run out!

Four. Biore Pore Unclogging Ice Scrub.
I really really liked this, and have since bought the cleanser too. It is really cool on the face without being stingy and because it has Salicylic acid in my skin is looking much clearer. Big thumbs up!

Five. Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover.
Average nail polish remover honestly. It's not terrible but its not great, but it is fairly cheap & it was kind to the nails but I prefer others much more.

Six. H&M Guava Purse Spray.
This is so so sweet, beyond sweet! I really liked it but it would be a bit much for most. These H&M mini sprays are such a good idea, and for about £1.50 each they are really purse friendly!

Seven. L'Occitane Creme Radiance Facial Lotion.
I got this with a copy of Glamour a fair while a go, and whilst it was nice enough the full sized is about £30 which is more than I'd pay for something that didn't utterly knock my socks off.

Eight. Cauldie Beauty Elixir.
Another product I loved & as soon as I can I'm going to get another bottle. It just really refreshes the skin & when the weather was warmer I was reaching for it daily.

Nine. L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes.
I really didn't get on with this mascara at all. I found it left my lashes clumpy & spidery, and the wand was just a bit too thick for my liking.

Ten. Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter.
Have you ever finished a product & just wanted to shout "FINALLY!!!" ? I really was so glad to see the back of this. I really don't like the Mist Your Madleys fragrance which this body butter has as I think its a masculine scent. Never again!

Eleven. Chanel Ombre Eyeshadow in shade 40.
These ombre eyeshadow are quite clever, they are a liquid in a bottle, which applies as a cream with a doe foot applicator and dries quickly to a powder. It was a lovely dusty pink beige colour. However these have been discontinued so even if I wanted to get another, I couldn't!

Twelve. Benefit Porefessional.
I've been using this primer for around 2 years, and so far I haven't had to buy the full sized! It's forever coming round on magazines, so when it does I stock up! I have another 2 minis to use up, and maybe one day I'll get the full sized!

Thirteen. Sure Compressed Deodorant.
Good enough, but I've recently been using the Dove Maximum Protection & it's the apple of my eye at the moment so I can't see my straying from it any time soon.

Fourteen. Alberto Balsam Mandarin & Papaya Shampoo.
I picked this up because it was cheap & I was in desperate need but it was actually quite good, plus it smells like a citrus smoothie!

So that's it lovelies, a good mix of products I love & ones I'm far too happy to see the back of!

Have you finished anything your glad to be rid of ladies?

Bare Minerals Luminizer In Shining Moment & A Big Thank You

Hello lovelies.

A few weeks back the lovely, and ever so talented Sailor Jennie wrote a really interesting post about products that she didn't like (link) & offered to pass them on to people who fancied giving them a go. She was kind enough to send me the Bare Mineral Luminizer in Shining Moment, so I thought I'd give it a little review.

Shining Moment is a gold toned luminizer powder compact. I can't say I've had a massive amount of Bare Minerals products, but the one other product I have is an eye pigment which I've nearly finished because I love it, so I had the highest hopes for loving this!

The luminizer comes in a pearly white square compact made of high quality plastic, with the BareMinerals logo on the front & a mirror inside the lid.

The luminizer has a gorgeous art deco-ish pattern stamped over the top. I personally adore patterns on any powder, I think it just makes it look pretty!

Swatched, it's a gorgeous gold toned colour which has an almost metallic edge, it's just so shiny! It really makes the cheek bones pop. I've found reach for this daily, and I just love it!

Another big thank you to the lovely Sailor Jennie for sending this to me, and if you don't follow her go follow her! I adore her blog, I've followed her for as long as I've blogged and she really is a lovely lady!

So ladies, seeing as I don't know much about the brand, do you have a favourite BareMinerals product? If so throw some recommendations my way!

Lifestyle: Making Money Stretch With Ikea's Bargain Corner

Hello lovelies.

If I was a very rich, or moderately rich even, I could spend a whole lot of money on homewear. I've had "my own place" for a number of years now & built up what I'd call a respectable collection of house stuff but something I've wanted for a good while now is a rug for the living room. However, rugs seem to be one of those things that are widely expensive, easily reaching the hundreds. I'm pretty lucky that I live a 10 minute walk from Ikea, and I do my food shopping right next door to it, so yesterday before the usual "how much milk do you think we will need?" my boyfriend & I popped in to Ikea for a bit of a mooch.

When I'm in Ikea I always like to check out bargain corner, which if you haven't been to Ikea before is an area usually right by the check out with heavily discounted items that usually have seen better days, either ex display or just rough housed a little. However, many years a go my mum used to work in bargain corner so I know there can be real finds, that with a bit of love can be really lovely again. So when I spotted a rug, a rug I would of considered at full price, I had to have it! However, it had seen better days.

The rug in question is this medium sized green rug with a square border of animals in the middle. If you've read my blog for a while you will probably know I adore animals on homewear so it was right up my street! But, as you can see it had seen better days, with quite a few marks on it. I'm always up for a challenge, and as it had been reduced to £10 I thought it was worth the risk!

I popped in to Tescos to pick up some carpet cleaner, and as I've used, and been impressed, Vanish Foam Carpet Cleaner before I went for that, which is usually around the £5 mark, but is currently on offer for £3.50. I've used this before and one bottle will last a hell of a long time. You spray the foam on to the carpet & lightly sponge it on to the area you want to clean with a damp foam sponge. You need to rub it in fairly hard without taking the foam off the area.

When your finished rubbing it in, you need to wait for around 2 hours for it to dry. When its dry there will be a little powder residue left which you can hoover up. If you possibly can stick you hoover up to a higher setting & give it a really good going over as it will help pull up more dirt.

I gave it a good hoover & this was the results, which I have to say I'm pretty pleased with! It's not perfect but it's much better than it was, getting a lot of the darker stains on the edge off. I'm going to give the animals another going over at some point but for the time being I'm pretty pleased!

Tuna is a big fan too!
I would recommend bargain corner to anyone, even if something looks a bit battered it can be fixed up & for a couple of hours work you can get something at a fraction of the original price.

So ladies, ever been to bargain corner? Ever got anything you've fixed up?

Moschino Pink Bouquet Perfume

Hello lovely ladies.

Sometimes things sit on my wishlist for ages, and it's not that I want them less, it's just one way or another they just don't end up coming home with me. Since just after Christmas, Moschino Pink Bouquet landed itself firmly on my wishlist, but for one reason or another, lack of funds, another perfume, and so on, I never bought it. So when I popped in to Debenhams & saw that the gift set was half price... it seemed like fate!

The bottle is full on girly girly,  the bottom half of the bottle is clear & the top half has a gorgeous pink metal with a hot pink lid.

The fragrance itself is just beautiful. When first sprayed on the skin, to me it smells exactly like Pink Lady apples, really fresh & juicy. But once it has settled the fragrance picks up a really floral edge, but retains the sweetness. It's a very feminine super girly fragrance. It lasts really well on the skin, I sprayed it on at around 10 this morning & I can still smell it now, which is about 8 hours on so I'd say impressive lasting time too. A winner all round!

I bought this 30ml bottle along with a shower gel & body lotion in the Debenhams sale for £21.50, but that doesn't seem to be online, but you can get a 30ml bottle here for just over £25.

So ladies, what perfume are you loving at the moment?

What's In My (New) Handbag

Hello ladies.

I've done this What's In My Handbag tag before, but not for well over a year so I thought, since I have a new bag, I'd do it again. I tend to be very loyal to one bag at a time, and when I get a new bag I tend to go through what was in the old one & take out bits and pieces that I don't reach for & generally declutter.

My new bag is the pink & white hearts Zatchel bag, I've done a little review here if you wanted to see more of it.

Two handbag essentials, a purse & an umbrella. The umbrella is really small in a polka dot print that I picked up in the DotComGiftShop Christmas sale for something like 90p, and I hate carrying around massive umbrellas so this is a total winner for me. My purse is also fairly new, having only picked it up a few weeks ago after my previous purses zip bust, if you like the print it's from Gisela Graham.

My iPod came to me in a fairly unusual way, from a bin! My boyfriend was at a friends house when the friends room mate was moving out, and he binned the iPod because it "didn't work", so my boyfriend asked if he could take it to try and fix it, and bought it home to me. It wasn't broken, it was just out of battery! This is essential to me, and not because of any "music is my life" reason, because I literally cannot stand listening to people talk on the bus, or worse still playing their own music of a tinny speaker, slightly irrational but it's true!

My keys, again needed, with a couple of Bristol Zoo keyrings on it & a trolly token as all my local supermarkets require one.

I picked up this fox pouch from the charity shop & use it to keep various tablets in. A little heart compact mirror, which if I'm honest I often forget I have but I do find I need it from time to time.

Showing faith that the British summer might kick in, annnny day now I have not one, but two water sprays in my bag, one from Vichy which find is great for instant cool - down & one from TonyMoly bunny spray that is great for using on the face.

I used to carry round a fairly full make up bag with me, but in all reality I very rarely used any of it, so I stuck a couple of little bits in to a purse. Two perfume samples in Flowerbomb & Prada Candy, a 17 Eyeshadow in case I'm in a massive rush it will do. 3 mini Essence lipglosses that are the perfect size, along with Benefit minis in Moon Beam & Stay Don't Stray. Lastly a generous mini lipgloss from Chanel. I also generally stick whichever lipstick I'm wearing that day in as well.

I've spoken about these Bath & Body Works Anti Bac hand gels more often than is probably reasonable, but I do love them! I carry round two in case I'm in the mood for a different scent

Lipbalm is another essential I can't do without, nothing is more annoying than sore lips.

Breathe spray from Primark in case of emergency!

Lastly is my phone, an iPhone to be exact. I've had mine since the first week the 4 came out and it's in pretty good space, probably because I am so precious with it! I like to know where it is at all times, so I'm often opening my bag just to double check it's still there! I am actually due an upgrade, so this might change at some point soon.

So that's it lovelies, that's what I'm lugging around with me, how about you? If you've done one of these posts link me!

My First Make Up From Guerlain: Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow Single in 183

Hello ladies.

Guerlain is a brand I've always admired, for afar. Although stunning packaging will usually suck me in, the price was just too high for me, so I've tried to never get too attached! However when I was browsing the House Of Fraser yesterday...

I ended up coming away with an eyeshadow! I've been on the look out for a new eyeshadow, and when I saw a big sale stand I decided to take a closer, much closer, look!

Half price! They had a few bits and bobs left in the sale, mostly lipglosses & lipsticks, a few bronzers and just one of the eyeshadows I fancied, so I decided it was fate & grabbed it with both hands.

I picked the shade 183, a nudey to white shade, which I tend to wear on a day to day basis. And lets just take a minute and look at this packaging! It's a high shine silver plastic that almost feels like metal, that pops open to reveal a decent sized mirror & foam applicator. It also has the Guerlain logo stamped on to the pressed powder. It is the most ridiculously decadent looking eyeshadow I have ever seen, let alone owned!

The eyeshadow itself is just stunning quality, although a powder it has a creamy silky feeling to it. Lets just say I like looking at it & I like using it.

But down to the nitty gritty, would I pay full price for it? Well... No. I'm not sure I would pay £21.50 for any eyeshadow single! However I will be paying much closer attention to the sales and snapping up any cheaper Guerlain I can get my poor little mitts on! For just over £10 I feel it was worth every (half priced) penny!

So ladies, have you tried anything from Guerlain? Any recommendations for me to keep my eyes out for during the next sale?

Wall's Twister Ice Lolly Lipsmacker Lip Balm

Hello ladies.

I have what I'd call a lip balm addiction, too many to even count. I'm also a big fan of ice cream. So when I saw the latest Lip Smackers collaboration with Walls, I knew it would end in me picking one up.

Lip Smackers were always my go to lip product of choice when I was little, I remember having a Lip Smackers lipgloss and thinking I was super grown up! Even though I'm pretty sure I ate the whole thing! I opted for what is probably my all time favourite ice lolly, a Twister! Lemon, lime & raspberry all swirled together? Yes please!

The packaging is pretty minimal for a lip smackers lip balm, with a retro pop art feel to it. The lip balm itself is a raspberry pink red, like the inside of a Twister, I have to say I was really hoping it would be a green & yellow swirl. As for taste it is spot on, lemon lime with a hint of raspberry. I have to say the only bad thing about this lip balm is that its made me really crave Twisters, I may or may not have some stashed in the freezer...

These lip balms come in 4 classic Wall's flavours, Twister, Feast, Strawberry Split & Mini Milk. I picked this up from Clare's Accessories for around £3, but they don't have it on the website so it will probably have to be an in - store purchase.

So ladies tell me, what is your favourite ice cream or ice lolly?

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in 74 Parfait

Hello lovelies.

I whole heatedly blame the stress of gift shopping for what happened in Debenhams earlier this week. After several hours shopping for a perfect gift I just couldn't find & a £5 Beauty Card Club voucher burning a hole in my pocket, I found myself two arms deep in a swatch fest, MAC, YSL, and finally Chanel.

Yep, my swatch fest ended in a purchase. A naughty purchase may I add, as I'm trying to look after money a little more at the moment! But, whats done is done!

Chanel, oh Chanel! The lipstick comes in the most beautiful packaging. Sleek black high shine plastic with a gold band around the middle, with of course the Chanel intertwined C's on the lid. There is something so iconic about the way everything from Chanel looks. A true luxury look.

I went for 74 Parfait, a pink with speckles of finely milled glittered. The Rouge Coco Shines are designed to be more sheer than your average lipstick, and give a higher shine. I was between a Coco Shine & one of the new YSL lipsticks, which I believe are called Sheer Candy. I was swatching a selection of them over & over, and what sold the Coco Shine to me was the colour pay off was just slightly more, a bit more of a complex colour. I'm not the boldest when it comes to lip colour, so I do prefer a sheer lipstick, if your more bold in your choices these possibly won't be up your street.

On the lips, it's a beautifully shiny with just a sweet of colour. It's so gorgeous, and it feels amazing on the lips, really soft & pretty much like lip balm so it feels ultra hydrating on the lips. I was slightly concerned because there is glitter on the lips it might be annoying, but you can't feel it at all. It also has a really unusual taste, it kind of tastes a little soapy, it's not unpleasant but not like other lipsticks I've had before. All in all it's an almost perfect lipstick for me, lip balmy in texture, a subtle sweep of colour & I really, really really, like looking at it!

They are really quite extravagant in price, at £24.00 (I had a voucher, a voucher I tell you!) it's the most expensive lipstick I own, or probably ever will own. But there is nothing wrong with a bit of extravagance from time to time, so if you wanted to browse the other shades you can do here.

So ladies, tell me has shopping for others ever melted your brain & made you buy something for yourself, when you should of been being good? Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Illamasqua Nail Varnish In Pink Raindrops

Hello lovelies.

I mentioned in my Birmingham Haul last week that I'd finally got to an Illamasqua counter, and of course that ended in a purchase! I actually thought it might be worse, but I managed to walk away with just the one purchase, a nail varnish in Pink Raindrops.

My main reason for picking up this nail varnish, apart from it being gorgeous, is that I have read 101 rave reviews for Illamasqua nail varnishes, and although I always wanted to I was really wanted to order one I hate hate hate blind buying from the website, without at least seeing one in person! Don't get me wrong I love internet shopping if I know I want something!

I spent a good while eyeing up all the different nail varnishes, and my heart from the first second said Pink Raindrops, a limited edition shade that came after they were asked again and again for it on Facebook when they hit a certain number of fans. It's a mid toned pinky to lilac colour when it hits the sun, with a grey off white shimmer. As far as packaging goes, it's pretty plain & the plastic lid is actually square, which I personally dislike as I find they can be a little difficult to get a good grip on.

The first thing I noticed when I swatched it was how thick the polish was! The nail varnish, ladies & gents, is a one coat nail varnish! The colour in the bottle applies directly on to the nail in one coat, no need for a second coat at all. It's a beautiful colour and it's shimmery without being a full on glitter explosion. It's beautiful!

However, Illamasqua nail varnishes don't come cheap. At £14.50 each, they are a pricey bunch, but for the right colour I would say they are worth it! You can buy them online here or if your very lucky from an Illamasqua counter near you.

So ladies, have you tried any of the Illamasqua nail varnishes? What shade would you recommend?

Zatchels Pink & White Hearts Satchel Bag

Hello lovelies.

You might of remembered me blogging about Zatchels having a birthday sale, all the way back in April, where all the bags were half price. I of course just had to make an order!

After browsing the website for a good couple of hours I ended up going back to the one I kept opening again & again, the pink satchel with white hearts! It's a muted pink, not a bubble gum colour, but it's still 100% girly!

I ended up going for the 14.5" bag, as I bought this bag to be my new every day bag & I tend to go for large bags as I like to carry my life around with me, and with the sale the price different between the 13" and the 14.5" was a couple of quid. The quality of the bag is amazing, really solidly put together & super pretty! I can honestly say I think this bag will last for years & years. BUT & this a big but....

I ordered my bag on April 21st, and it took them until the 4th of June to actually make my bag. First they were swamped with ordered, and then they couldn't get the leathers in stock, and one things after another. Which wouldn't on been so bad, but they were terrible at updating everyone as to what was happening, there was one facebook update & an email, but neither had a whiff on an apology for the extremely long wait, so it meant having to chase them over and over again, and even at this point there was no apology at all. I was promised by customer service that once they had the leather they would make mine straight away, and yet it took them another week to start making it, and when I asked about it again, still no apology! Sorry Zatchels, but your customer service was piss poor. I know that some people are actually still waiting!

However, the best part of 6 weeks later, I do have a lovely bag that I paid just half of the RRP for, so if Zatchels had another sales I'd probably order again, but this time I won't expect my bag any time soon!

So ladies, did you order? How long did yours take to arrive, or are you still waiting?

New! Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer

Hello lovelies.

I mentioned a while ago that I attended the Benefit Stay Flawless event in Bristol which was really cool & at the event we were all really kindly given the new 15 hour primer to try, so I've been giving a bit of a road test, so here's my little review.

The Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer comes in a tube which isn't too unlike a Pritt Stick! I think the packaging is really cute, with a clear dotty lid & a black base with what I'd called "very Benefit" lettering. I think it's really cute!

Once you pop the lid off, the product itself is a light beige colour which when applied dries clear, that twists up from the tube (again, much like a Pritt Stick) that you apply directly on to your face from the tube, moving in a circular motion. This primer claims to keep your make up looking fresh for up to 15 hours, which I think you will agree is quite the claim!

The reason I haven't reviewed this sooner is because this primer claims to last up to 15 hours, so I wanted to give it a proper test on a day where I knew I would be out and about, running around seeing just how well it held up, and as I mentioned a few posts ago here, I went to Birmingham a few days ago for a shopping trip, so I thought that + the fact it was quite a warm day would be the perfect test.

This primer is meant to do something completely different to Porefessional. Porefessional is a primer to smooth over pores & blur fine lines, Stay Flawless is meant to stick down make up, and is described as a "make up magnet". So I applied it straight to my face, and the first thing that I noticed was that it was very sticky. I think as I normally used Porefessional I was a wee bit shocked by it! But I carried on applying it & put my BB cream (Dr Jart Water Fuse) over the top, grabbed my bag & headed to Birmingham.

When we were in Birmingham I did a whole lot of walking, plus we were half melted to death in Selfridges (seriously, turn up the air con! I saw a couple of cream blushers turning in to blusher soup!) so I didn't have the highest hopes for it, but when I was back home & taking my make up off I realised I was taking off a lot more make up than normal, i.e there was still quite a lot to take off! I left the house at 8am, and got back around 9pm, and didn't take my make up off until around 10pm so it did last, and last and last for around 14 hours, which is quite impressive!

I can see this primer being the bees knees if you find that your make up slides off your face throughout the day or if your very lucky & going somewhere lovely and sunny this summer. However I would say try before you buy, as move over "make up magnet" this is make up glue!

The Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer is due for release around the 29th of June & will cost around £24.50.

So ladies, what do we think? Will you be giving this a little test when it's out?

Magazine Freebie:Model Co Beauty Goodies With Glamour

Hello lovelies.

I popped to the shops today to grab a few bits, including a magazine. I always give the magazine stands a good browse at the beginning of the month to see what freebies are about, but this month I found myself walking away with just the one, the only magazine I buy month to month. Glamour!

I would of probably walked away with it any way, but what sweetened the deal was the freebie on the front, from Model Co. I've never personally heard of this brand but according to the packet they are a cult brand, so sounds good to me! I went for the Mascara as I seem to get through that more quickly than other products. You can choose from the mascara, two shades of lipgloss, an eyeliner & a lip liner. And the best part is that it's only £2! I had a quick look at the mascara and it seems to be a standard fluffy wand in a deep black.

So ladies, what magazine freebies have you picked up this month?
