RIP Lady Cat

Hey lovelies.

Just a quick one from me, my Mums cat, our family cat, was run over & passed away tonight. She was knocked over in front of my Mums house & the driver drove off, but a group of lads bought her to the front door. It's very sad as she was only 2 years old, and everyone is very upset and already misses her very much.

Lady & Tuna having a sleep together.

Goodbye Lady, you may be gone but you will not be forgotten.

Christmas Gifts 2013

Hello lovelies.

I was initially unsure if I was going to post this, but I had to admit to myself, I just love seeing what people got for Christmas! I am one of those people going "ooooh what is it" every time someone opens a present, because I am plain nosey! So I decided to snap a few pictures of some of my favourite gifts. I will say the usual here, I'm not bragging, I just thought I'd share.

I was a very lucky girl this year, as I got two perfumes I've lusted after for a long, long time! The Lolita Lempick perfume was from my Mum, and I already knew I was getting this as I picked it out! It's a lovely clean fresh scent with incredible staying power. The next was my favourite present of all, a bottle of Chanel No5 from my boyfriend. I've wanted this perfume for the longest time, I always spray it on myself at a counter and tell him how much I like it, so I guess it finally sank in!

Next was by far the most useful present, a new hairdryer! I've been using a mini travel hair dryer which has had a broken fan for months, and when I switched this on Christmas day & dried my hair in about 5 minutes it was like a dream. But, also... LOOK AT IT, IT HAS LADYBIRDS ON. This was from my boyfriends mum, who is always far too kind.

Another gift from my lovely boyfriend, this stunning antique Jade butterfly necklace. This is probably my most special gift of all, as it's the first Jade jewellery I've ever really liked. If you are named after a stone, or anything physical, I bet your whole life you've been given gifts, gifts that have been lovingly picked, but just miss the mark. I've been given a lot of jade in my life, but this is just stunning, and I love the fact you can tell it's old because the jade on the wings is really imperfect.

Shower gel! Before Christmas this draw was empty, so thank you Christmas, I won't need to buy any shower gel for a long, long time! My sister got me the Snow Fairy, the giant bottle of Glogg is from the lovely Ali, and everything else is from just about every single person I know!

My little sister got me a Pandora charm for Christmas, which was incredibly thoughtful, but it was even more so that she'd remembered I'd had my eye on the peacock charm since it came out! When I opened it she also said she thought it was funny because when mum got married there were peacocks in the grounds, and because we were little we literally ran around chasing them for hours! The owl charm is from my Dad, step-mum & baby brother, which is really cute and my baby brother apparently picked it! (He is one, so I'm sure he might of had some help!)

This was another, yes another! Gift from my boyfriends mum (She is far far to generous) which was this gorgeous Cath Kidston bag. I've been after a small bag for a while as I only have large bags, so if I'm just popping out for a few hours I have to drag a massive bag around with me. It's the perfect size for my purse, keys, phone and some lip balm! It's also oil cloth so hope it stays this clean for a while!

This is the gift I opened & just couldn't believe how thoughtful it was! This brooch is a personalised version of a much bigger necklace from Hand Over Your Fairy Cakes, which I adored, but was just to large for my tastes. But the wonderful & clever Ali got it made in to a brooch for me! It's taken pride of place on my coat!

So those were my gifts, how about you lovely ladies? Did Father Christmas bring you a nice gift this year?

Christmas Sales Haul

Hello lovelies.

I was one of those people up bright and early on boxing day morning to hit the sales, oh yes. A quick stop at McDonalds for breakfast and off I went!

I have to say, I was slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong I still managed to pick up a few bits and bobs, but nothing I was really after was in the sale, or the reduction was so small I ended up leaving it. However I also popped out today and managed to pick up some more bits, so I thought I'd share them with you!

First up is this jumper from Next. The plan was to pop in on boxing day as I had a gift card, but it was crazy. For a start there were bouncers on the door to let people in one at a time as people came out, and you could see the queue around the shop from the door, so I left! I popped in today and the entire shop had been wrecked. The only clothes left were pretty lack luster, so I went to the home section which had about 4 lonely baubles left, and a lot of chipped tableware. So as I about to leave empty handed I decided to have a quick browse of the mens jumpers, and came across this! It's a blue & mustard yellow jumper that I bought in an XL so it's nice and comfortable. The only clothing I've found so far!

Next up is this Rituals "Home Perfume" in Green Tea I picked up from Boots for half price. It's one of the most amazing scents I've sniffed for a long time, and I work in a scented candle shop! It's a gorgeous light tea scent with an almost citrusy edge. Even at half price it was still £8.75 but I was in love with it!

Next up I also bought this Nails Inc nail varnish in Sweets Way. Nails Inc are seemingly having a bit of a blow out & a huge amount of the nail varnishes are half price, as are the sets. I've been intrigued by the Sprinkles collection for a while so for £5 I thought I'd see what all the fuss is about!

Next is probably my favourite purchase, as it's the one I've lusted after the longest, which is this Russian doll bra from Freya. I've wanted this for at least 6 months, if not slightly longer, however it was £32.... THIRTY TWO POUNDS! However it was half price in Debenhams, making it £16, so I grabbed the last one in my size with both hands! Freya bras are fantastic as well, if slightly ridiculously priced!

Ok, so this is the only thing that wasn't food I bought on boxing day. Me & my mum queued up outside Harvey Nichols for a little while before it opened, and it was fairly quiet, until the doors opened... OH WHAT FRESH HELL. Both me & my mum were knocked over by women running and shoving to get to the handbags... little did they know I just wanted to look in Space NK... so after I picked  myself up OFF THE FLOOR, I went and had first pick of the Space NK sale, whilst women were screaming and shouting, shoving, pushing and generally making themselves look like utter tits over bags. I might sound like an old woman but I was literally disgusted that people would act that way!

I decided to just get the last set of Lipstick Queen Dancing Queen lipsticks, a brand I've wanted to try for a while. The set came with 3 different colours, and was reduced to just £9. In the box I thought they were minis, but they are only the tiniest bit smaller than the full sized (3.5g VS 4g) and seeing as one is usually £20 I thought that was a good deal! I've snapped a few pictures of the lipsticks so you can see the colours.

The whole set is super sparkly, which might put some people off but I thought that was kind of cool as I have nothing like it. The first colour is Cha Cha, a plum colour with deep pink sparkle and has a glossy effect when applied to the lips.

Next is my favourite of the bunch, Electric Slide. Which is a true red with silver glitter, and I literally feel like a princess when wearing this! It's very glossy once applied.

Lastly is The Hustle, a pinky nude with a gold shimmer. This one is a lot more subtle when applied to lips, and I've popped this in my work bag as it's a perfect "something without being anything" lip.

So that's all I've picked up, and although it's not a huge amount I'm really pleased with everything I have bought! I'm sure I will be adding to this before the sales are over, I just can't resist a good bargain!

How about you lovely lot? Did you pick up much in the sales?

Christmas Day 2013

Hello lovelies.

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, and you've all been utterly spoilt rotten & stuffed full of lovely yummies! I thought I'd just share a few snaps from my Christmas Day.

Tuna opening his stock, yes, his stocking. Tuna was also really loving all the wrapping paper. After all the rain, storms and even hail, Christmas day turned out to be a beautifully sunny day. Me heading over to my mums. Pink Christmas tree. Settling down with an open fire. Keeping my feet toasty. Fairy lights. Christmas table.

I had a nice, relaxed, easy going day, and was utterly spoilt! I've not included any of the presents I received, and I'm in two minds to if I am going to do a post on them. Although I adore reading them as I'm nosey I know it can rub a lot of people up the wrong way, so if you would like to see a post of a few of my Christmas gifts, stick a comment below!

A Festive Instagram Round Up

Hello lovelies.

I know it's almost cliche, BUT HOW IS IT 4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS DAY?!?! Tell me how! I love Christmas, and try to enjoy all things Christmassy before it's all over for another year, so I thought I'd share some Instagram snaps of what I've been up to lately, be prepared, it's Christmas overload!

1. The most beautiful hot chocolate from the German Christmas Market, I've actually been back for a few!

2. Caved & bought this beautiful snowman tealight holder from work, luckily I scored a discount on it.

3. Tuna, the cat with a million toys, but every time I receive a package bubble wrap is the best thing in the world. Ever.

4. Autumn leaves are just beautiful.

5. Christmas tree up!

6. Wrapping presents for my ladies, took about 3 more presents before I became completely bored with the whole thing!

7. Picked up some beautiful tin baubles from Wilkonsons for just £2.50 each. Wished I'd got a few more now!

8. I managed to get all my Christmas shopping in a day, but I caved and did buy myself one thing... socks! I love Topshop socks, they are just beautiful.

9. Ok, so you know how I just, just, said I didn't buy myself anything, well the next day I splurged. I was handed a 30% off code for American Apparel and decided I was finally going to get myself the fisherman knit jumper I've lusted after for years, and I've barely taken it off since!

10. Snowman biscuits!

11. More snowmen! This time in mug form!

12. Amazing knitted Nativity, known as Knitmas, which was made in aid of St Peters Hospice, which features huge (between 6 and 7ft) knitted Nativity members, as well as a sheep, a donkey and others! Very very impressive!

13. Went to see the Hobbit, and bar feeling utterly sick at the price of a cinema ticket, really really enjoyed the film!

14. Primark Christmas PJ's, tucked away for Christmas eve!

15. Myself with a giant candy cane after a lovely afternoon out in Bath.

16. Said giant candy cane VS a normal, wimpy "regular" candy cane!

17. A treat for Christmas from my favourite shop in Bath, the Fudge Factory! The most amazing, delicious, handmade fudge I've ever had and it's taking everything I have not to eat the whole lot right now!

18. Found this little fella, a plush Lindt plush bear in Tesco and just had to give it a home. Obviously.

19. Finally going to try that Heston hidden satsuma Christmas pudding that was a thing like 3 years a go, fashionably late to the party!

20. I was walking past a little stall selling hand made glass ornaments, and this Christmas tree caught my eye and made me actually stop, so I had to get it! It's sitting pride of place on the tree now :)

So that's my Instagram round up ladies, if you fancy giving me a cheeky follow you can do here, but feel free to leave your username below.

TK Maxx Bargains: Deborah Lippmann Nail Varnishes

Hello lovelies.

It would be fair to say that TK Maxx has been letting me down recently. I don't know if it's the savvy, money conscious Christmas shoppers that have been snapping up all the goodies, or just they plain haven't had anything I've fancied, but I've left empty handed more often than not. That was until I was in their on Monday, and came across these...

3 Deborah Lippmann nail varnishes! These nail varnishes do not come cheap, at somewhere around the £15 each, I was super excited to find 3 for £12 in the clearance section!

I had come across Deborah Lippmann nail varnishes in TK Maxx before, but the colours were all a bit of a dud and most of them had separated quite badly, so when I saw that it was 3 colours I liked, in seemingly perfection condition, I grabbed it with both hands! I thought I'd share the colours with you.

First up is Good Girl Gone Bad, which I think is a Rhianna nail varnish, which is slightly annoying and I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't think shes great. However the nail varnish is a dark purple / plum glitter.

Next up is the most exciting, Bring On The Bling. I didn't realise this when I was buying it, but this apparently contains virgin diamond powder! Now I'm sure that they are probably talking about 1ml in 1000000000mls but still, more of a diamond than I currently own! It's a see through shimmer, but it looks sort of off white in the bottle.

Lastly in the trio in is this one, Called Sarah Smile, which was designed with Sarah Jessica Parkers input. This, although the most "boring" of the 3 is probably the nail varnish I needed the most, a decent nude! I often wear nude colours under glitter nail varnish if I want it to be slightly more subtle. This one is a very pale nude, the colour that we all wish our nails naturally were (and hats off if yours are!).

I am really sorry about the quality of these swatches, but these dark evenings are killing my camera! Left to right is Bring On The Bling, which is beautiful but I'd wear over another nail varnish as it is very subtle. Next is Good Girl Gone Bad, my favourite of the 3, a dark plum colour with a pretty shimmer, I've already worn this and I loved it! Next is Sarah Smile, which as mentioned before is a super subtle nude, again i'd wear something over it but something I've been searching for.

I am super pleased with these, and I'm keeping everything crossed that TK Maxx gets more in soon!

Have you lovely ladies found anything good in TK Maxx recently?

Philosophy Peppermint Stick Shower Gel

Hello lovelies.

I promised myself I wasn't going to buy myself any beauty products in December, and so far I've only broken that once, for a Philosophy shower gel! I smelt the Christmas offerings back in November, and one really really grabbed my attention, the Peppermint Stick.

I decided that I just had to have it, and nothing was going to stop me! Unlike the shower gels that are available all year round, the Christmas editions come in a lovely festive box, which is slightly unnecessary if you are buying it for yourself, but a nice touch if you were going to give it as a gift.

The thing I love most about Philosophy shower gels is that there is no messing about. It's called Peppermint Stick, and it smells like a beautiful candy cane, minty yet sweet but not sickly. It's also a gorgeous pink colour, so it's nice and girly! Peppermint has to be one of my favourite scents of all time, and they couldn't of made it more perfectly for me!

Philosophy shower gels aren't the cheapest, and I've said this before but I'll say it again, I don't have a bath, so I can't have bath bombs which is sad all year round but I really miss them at Christmas! They are usually £14, but I've found Peppermint Stick is currently on offer for £12.60 at Debenhams here. They are however a massive 480mls and incredibly thick so they last a long, long time!

So ladies, whats your favourite Christmas scent?

Impulse Till Purchase - Hurraw Chai Spice Vegan Lip Balm

Hello lovelies.

I'd out money on just about everyone being in this scenario, your stood in a queue, waiting to pay for something, and there is a stand of something you had no intention of buying, but some how, either through boredom or just plain being suckered in, you end up buying it? That's what happened to me on Thursday night. I was waiting to pay for a jumper I'd eyed up for over a year in American Apparel, as I had a 30% off voucher, and ended up walking away with another lip balm!

I ended up picking up this Hurraw! lip balm. It's a brand that had intrigued me before, as seemingly I am on a one woman quest to try every brand of lip balm that has ever been or ever will be!

But, more than just being pulled in by the brand, I ended up purchasing because of the flavour! Chai Spice flavour to be precise! Any one who knows me knows that I am a huge huge fan on anything cinnamon flavoured, and chai is probably close to the perfect flavour for me! The flavour is quite subtle but most certainly a cinnamon taste, without being too much.

The lip balm itself is a really nice consistency, not too hard but also not so soft you end up using more product than you need. Although the lip balm has a beige colour to it in the bullet it applies completely clear. As well as being vegan, it's also organic, and raw so it's an ethical lip balm option.

You can buy Hurraw! lip balms from American Apparel in store, or from cutecosmetics online here for £3.99.

So ladies, hands up who's done a queue waiting impulse purchase? Tell me I'm not alone?!
