HUGE Lush Haul

Hello lovelies.

I'm back! I'm all moved in and the internet has been connected, so I am good to go! Any ways, on to todays post, a huge Lush haul! Now I've moved, after 3 long years, I finally have a bath again, so I was already planning on a big Lush haul, but when I remembered that I had a gift card for Lush, well, things got a little out of control!

Ok, so I did pick up quite a lot, but in fairness I only actually paid £1 of my own money, so... yeah that's my justification! I tried to go for things I've not tried before, or at least I don't remember trying.

Fizzbanger.
I went for this one as it's smells delicious, like an apple cinnamon drink or something! It comes in at £3.25 which is a pretty average price for Lush.

The Comforter.
I have wanted to try this for SO LONG. It smells like straight up raspberries, with a slight sour tone which helps it not to be too overpowering and sweet. This pretty big in size, so the idea is that it can be crumbled, in to two or three baths, so at £4.50 it's an alright price as long as your split it.

Lord Of Misrule.
I picked this up as I thought it was only around for Halloween so I thought I'd get it while I still could! It's quite spicy in scent, with a patchouli undertone. This was £3.30, so again it's a pretty average price.

Twilight.
Again, another I fancied trying, as it's lavender scented and sounded lovely for evening when I wanted to unwind and get some sleep. This one comes in at £3.25.

Dragons Egg.
Ok, so I've tried this one before but it's one of my favourites. It's really exciting as it changes colour, and it has the most amazing scent, almost exactly like lemon sherbert. I loved this before & I'm sure I'll love it again! Again an average price, £3.25.

Avobath.
Ok, so this was a total Ali inspired purchase, as she raved to me about it so I thought I'd give it a whirl! To me, this smells like straight up lemongrass, which happens to bee one of my favourite scents of all time. Again it comes in at a pretty average price, £3.25.

The Love Locket.
So, this is brand new bath bomb for Valentines 2014, and it's one of Lush's 3 use Bath Bombs that your meant to smash apart to reveal a smaller bath bomb. And to be honest if it doesn't I will be pissed as it was a whopping £6.95. Which in my opinion is a bit ridicolous, but as I had a gift card I thought I might as well!

Sex Bomb.
This is an old favourite of mine, it's actually the first bath bomb I ever tried from Lush! It's a really girly scent, with notes of Ylang Ylang. It's probably always going to be a favourite of mine! This one came in at £3.25.

Freebies.
So, I would say that I'm on pretty good terms with the staff at Lush, which is shown by these awesome freebies! The first two are Father Christmas bath bombs, which I was given when I was saying I was sad I'd missed the Christmas bath bombs.

The other is a small slice of the Neon Love soap, which I was umming and arring over as I couldn't smell anything any more after smelling so many bath bombs! I loved it instantly, and I've already gone back for a bigger bit as it's limited edition for Lush!

So, all in all it came to an eye watering £31.00, but luckily I only had to pay £1 out of pocket! So, do you have any recommendations for what bath bombs to try!

BRB!

Hello lovelies.

Just a quick one from me today to say I'm currently in the process of moving, and if you've seen my recent snaps on Instagram it's a bit chaotic so I'm not sure when I will be able to post this week, but I will be back as soon as I know where any of my belongings are!

Stacks of boxes, everywhere.

So lovelies, BRB!

Prince Charming - Lush Valentines Day Limited Edition Shower Gel

Hello lovelies.

I am a sucker for anything new, and limited edition new-ness will always have my reaching for my purse! So last week when I found myself in Lush, and I happened to spot the new limited edition Valentines items, a purchase was bound to happen... and it did!

As always, I don't have a bath so I went for shower gel! The shower gel is for Valentines Day, so it's aptly named Prince Charming! It's a dark pink in colour, and the ingredients include Marshmallow Root, which I was confused about as there is no such thing as a Marshmallow tree, but it is actually the root of a herb, Vanilla & Pomegranate.

It's all about the smell right? So what does this smell like? Sweet! If I was a betting person I would bet that if your a fan of Snow Fairy, you will like this! To me, it smells exactly like Turkish Delight, sweet and sugary but with a fruity edge. This, bar Snow Fairy, has to be my favourite Lush shower gel for a long, long time! It's right up my street and I think I'll be going back for the big bottle before it goes!

Prince Charming is available in all stores nation wide, or online here, and 100mls costs £4.25, so a pretty standard price for Lush shower gels. You can browse the rest of the Valentines day range here, but check out this bath bomb I snapped a photo of, it looks and smells amazing!

It's called Love Locket, and it's a massive heart that you crack open to get three or fours baths out of, if I had a bath this also would of been mine!

Have you lovely ladies had a look at any of the Valentines Lush range? What did you think?

Stila Sale Bargains - First Impressions

Hello lovelies.

Last week I blogged about the Stila sale, and the massive discounts they had on the website, and although the items are now all sold out, I thought I'd do a quick first impressions post for you all, just in case any of you ordered as well!

I was veryyyy restrained (well I think I was!) and only ordered two items, a After Glow lip colour in Party Pink & the Written In The Stars palette.

After Glow Lip Colour in Party Pink - Reduced to £4

First up is the After Glow Lip Colour in Party Pink. I love love love lip crayons in general, and I do tend to favour them over lipsticks! After a quick google I went for Party Pink as I thought I'd probably like this colour the most. It's a deep raspberry pink in colour, and I really like the colour but I'm most impressed with how it wears. In terms of texture & taste its a lot like a lipstick, but once it dries down it's incredibly hard wearing. I've found that I can even eat & drink with it on and have minimal wear! I'm really impressed with this & kind of wish I'd ordered more colours!

Written In The Stars Palette - Reduced to £3.75

This was part of the Christmas sets and was a complete bargain because of that. The palette features 12 gorgeous shades, some matte but most of them are gorgeously shimmery, which is my favourite sort of eyeshadow! The eyeshadows themselves are really gorgeous and buttery, very impressed with this as well! The palette is a fairly flat & not to big, which I love as big bulky palettes can be a nightmare to store!

So overall, for a grand total of £7.75 I am beyond impressed! Stila is a brand I haven't tried a huge amount of, but everything I've tried I've really liked, maybe a brand to pay more attention to eh?

Did you ladies order any bits from the sale? If so what did you think?

MUA Luxe Velvet Lips In Funk

Hello lovelies.

MUA seem to have a new product every other week, and honestly, hardly any of them ever catch my eye. However, when the lovely Ali was telling me about the MUA Velvet Lips I was intrigued. The Lime Crime Velvetines took the blogging world by storm last year, and although I liked the idea none of the colours jumped out at me, and these are supposed to be a very similar idea, and seeing as it was only £3 I thought I'd give it a go.

As the Velvet Lips are part of the MUA Luxe range, the outer packaging and the tube itself have much more of a luxurious feel than other MUA products. The tube is frosted glass with a plastic screw cap with gold lettering.

Velvet lips are lip "lacquers" or glosses that dry down to matte, which claims to be "Smudge Proof & Long Lasting". All the shades available are pretty bright, verging on neon, colours. I went for Funk, which is a bright hot pink shade.

So, this is the colour on the lips, a gorgeous hot pink that's bright without being too much. However, the colour is about the only thing I like about this product. Firstly, the lip lacquer is really thick, and even once dry I find incredibly uncomfortable on the lips, and the matte effect doesn't help as it almost feels chalky as well as being incredibly drying. However, this isn't even the worst of it. On the back on the packaging it claims to be "Quick Drying" "Smudge Proof & Long Lasting", to this MUA, I say bullshit.

I've taken a picture of what happened after letting it dry for about 5 minutes, and then accidentally touching my lips together... If you thought the old, lip liner there, lip stick gone, look was a bad one, brace yourself...

ARGHHHH! WHYYYY! This has to win the award for the most horrendous looking lip! The lacquer itself seems to stick together and basically form little patches of stuck together product, that honestly I think we could all do without seeing! However, I thought it might just be that you need to let it dry down properly, and then it would work. No...

After letting it dry for a good 30 minutes I thought I might be on to something, and then got on with my day. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN EVERY TIME ANY MOISTURE GOT NEAR MY MOUTH! A tiny sip through a straw, trying to eat, and don't even think about licking your lips because, oh god this stuff is so uncomfortable, the product will stick to your tongue! So much for claims of long lasting and smudge proof!

All in all, a giant flop from me. I'm glad it was cheap as I've given this a few goes, still hate it, so its probably going to end up in the bin!

Have any of you ladies tried these? Did they work for you?

(Better Late Than Never) December Empties

Hello lovelies.

December is probably the only month in the year I'm truly sad to see the back of. Christmas is over for another year & you get left with January, which for most people is the worst month of the year! It's still cold, it's still dark and most of us would rather not look at our bank accounts! However, today I'm pretending it's still December as here are my empties!

I am quite pleased with what I managed to finish last month, and I've finally made a start on using up some samples!

One. Bioderma Sebium Solution Micellaire 500ml.
This is the one. I fricking love this stuff because it is so effortless. This a mashoosive bottle, but I've used every last drop up, and before I went to France I had a quick look to see how much I had left and decided to pick up a couple more bottles, another full sized bottle and a couple of travel ones, because even in central Paris it's much cheaper. I paid about 10 euros for a 500ml bottle and 2,50 for the 100ml travel sized bottles, which should keep me going for quite a while!

Two. The Body Shop Satsuma Body Mist.
I've had quite a few different bottles of the body mists, and as lovely as they are I've found them really difficult to finish. I think because it's quite a fine spray and a large bottle it just seemed never ending. I don't know if I would buy another, possibly if a new scent was added but for the time being I'e had my fill.

Three. Paul & Joe Nail Enamel Remover.
This was actually a birthday gift from Ali possibly the birthday before last, but I couldn't bring myself to use it for a long time as it looks so crazy fancy! It was a really beautiful product, it removed nail varnish well, even glitter. I am going to reuse the bottle, so I doubt I'd repurchase as the bottle is most of the appeal!

Four. Lush Snow Fairy.
Standard Christmas empty for me to be honest. Every December 1st I put a little bottle in the shower, and as such it's become somewhat of a tradition! Its sweet and sugary goodness! I've already got another bottle which I'll hang on to before using for a little while, so it's not too long until I can get another bottle!

Five. Bath & Body Works Pink Sugar Plum Shower Gel.
Another Christmassy one from me, I've had this sat waiting for the festive period for a couple of months and it didn't disappoint. I've never disliked a single Bath & Body Works product to be honest! They are all really sweet and girly. If I ever find myself in America I can't imagine the damage that would happen to my bank account!

Six. John Fredia Full Repair Conditioner Sample.
Nice enough but not perfect, quite a generous sample size so got two uses out of the sachet. It made my hair feel soft but not as much as what I usually use (Organix).

Seven. 3 Shu Uemura Ultimat8 Cleansing Oil Samples.
I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and I liked it, but I honestly cannot imagine spending £38 on 150mls of it. It made my skin feel nice but it's not a life changer.

Eight. Sephora Mango Shower Gel.
I love the Sephora shower gels, and I usually get the little pods but decided to splash out on the big bottle of the mango. It's beautiful, thick and foams nicely. I will get more the next time I'm at a Sephora! Oh please let that be soon!

Nine. Model Co Lash Extend Mascara.
This was a freebie with Glamour magazine, but my god this is the WORST mascara I've ever tried. It flaked off in to the eye within minutes, and within an hour the whole lot was around the eye. Revolting. Doubt I'd try much from the brand after this almighty flop.

Ten. Collection 2000 Concealer.
I know, it's almost so clique to own this now its crazy. Every blogger has one, every bloggers dog has one, cat, goldfish, everyone! It's a good, really cheap, basic mascara, that s hard to argue with. I liked it enough, but I've decided to try some more high street options out, as I feel like it misses something I can't quite put my finger on.

Eleven. Lush Sugar Mouse Scrub.
A Christmas gift from Ali, it's a scrub bar in the shape of a sugar mouse that smell like snow fairy! It's scrubby enough to really do some work, which I need during winter and leaves a beautiful snow fairy scent on skin.

Twelve. Si Georgio Armani Perfume Sample.
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would, it's quite a mature scent but it's beautiful. It's not something I'd buy right now but it surprised me, so possibly in the future.

Thirteen. Baflour Body Cream Sample.
This was a freebie when I bought something from Space NK. The cream was quite nice itself but the fragrance was quite spicy and masculine, and generally not what I'd go for, however I was impressed with the scent staying power. I put it on first thing in the morning and after a 13 hour shift I could still really smell it. I'd consider more from the brand in another fragrance.

So that's what I finished up last month, how about you lovely ladies?

The £10 Ted Baker Jewel Clasp Purse Dupe From LYDC

Hello lovelies.

I've been after a new purse for a while, but I've really struggled to find anything I truly like. However, more and more I've found myself lusting after one of the Ted Baker jewel clasp purses, but the price is pretty eye watering! At between £75 to £99 each, as pretty as they are, I just couldn't bring myself to pay it! So when I stumbled on a pretty bloody close dupe for just £10, I was chuffed to bits! I thought I'd share it with you all as I thought you might like to see.

There is a few different colour options available, but I went for the baby pink with subtle shimmer. As with the Ted Baker it's a patent "pleather" so it almost has a plastic feel but not quite, think vinyl. The purse also feels really decent quality wise, and having felt the Ted Baker purses there isn't much, quality feeling wise, between the two.

Unlike a lot of the LYDC purses the logo branding is pretty small and inoffensive, as it's just a small metal strip. A lot of the pretty LYDC purses are near on ruined because it has some giant logo on the front. However that is a personal preference of mine, and it doesn't matter if it's Primark or Prada, I prefer branding to be pretty small, and preferably not be there at all!

The prettiest part of this purse has to be the jewel clasp. It has two clear "jewels" (aka glass, but you know, cut like a jewel!) set in a gold metal clasps. Unlike the Ted Baker (which come in different coloured jewels to match the purse) version, the only colour is clear.

Inside the purse there is a few cards clothes, a section to stick notes & a coin purse. The material inside the purse is not really to my tastes, but it's not horrific either, and as hardly anyone will see it bar me its fine.

I bought mine from a little shop in Bristol City Center called Coco's, but I've found it on eBay here for just £10, which I think is pretty good considering I was this close to caving and buying one from Ted Baker! There is a choice of baby pink, hot pink, purple, green, red and black & the seller is based in the UK.

Have you ladies found any good dupes recently?

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lipbalm: The ONLY Lipbalm You Will Ever Need

Hello lovelies.

Stop what you're doing and listen, I have found THE lip balm. Ok, well I am not the only person to ever use this, and I bought it on the high praises the lovely Ali gave me, but still, it is the ONE. I'm talking about the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm.

Ok, so I will share a little origin story leading up to the purchase of this lip balm. I've never really suffered with dry lips. Until this year. The shop I work in doesn't have heating, and it's in an open air shopping center, so little by little my lips were getting drier and sorer. It got to the point that people were asking me if I had something around my mouth, which I didn't, it was just so red! I was putting on every lip balm I had every few minutes, but nothing was helping. I was desperate to sort it out, so when Ali told me how amazing the Nuxe Reve De Miel was, I thought it was worth a shot!

The lip balm comes in a small frosted glass pot with a white screw off lid. I do wish they also had a tube version as it's a little more hygienic, but I don't dislike the packaging either. The lid however can be a little annoying, as if you put it on wrong it can be a little fiddly to get off!

When you lift the lid you can see the lip balm is filled right to the top of the pot, which I am a big fan of as there is no unnecessary packaging! The lip balm itself is a dark yellowy colour, and at first sniff it smells slightly lemony, but a very gentle scent.

So, here's the things, after over a month of trying every product under the sun and getting no where, I didn't really think this was going to come to my rescue, but oh my, did it! I put a little on & rubbed my lips together, and it was love.

Firstly, the texture of the lip balm is extremely thick so you only need a tiny bit, and once you've rubbed your lips together it doesn't disappear completely, it sits comfortably on the lips so you can feel it working for hours and hours. It also has teeny tiny grains in it which very gently buff away dead skin without being harsh.

It also has a pleasant taste, very slightly lemony mixed with a subtle honey taste. Which isn't surprising as if you look at the ingredients listed are Honey, Plant Oils, Shea Butter & Grapefruit Essence.

So after months of being in pain, spending a fortune on different lip balms, I used this ONCE and it fixed everything. That sounds like a lie but it is really true! I applied a small amount once & my lips were left feeling soft, nourished and just plain back to normal! Oh how I wish I'd found this sooner!

The only slight problem with this lip balm is that it isn't particularly cheap. 15 grams will set you back around £9.50 from Space NK here, however I've had a quick look around online & I've found it in the Feel Unique sale here for £7.60 here, however if I'd found this sooner I would of actually saved a lot of money, as I hate to think how much I spent on products that didn't work!

So if your suffering from dry lips I couldn't recommend this enough! Have you found any really amazing products recently?

2013 In Photos

Hello lovelies.

My 2013 has been a year of highs and lows. As I shared the other day my Mums cat was hit by a car 2 days a go, so I can't say I've been super excited about New Years. However I thought it might be nice to share some of my highlights of 2013 with you all.

Tuna.

Ok, so he is really the highlight of every year, but given the what's happened in the last couple of days I've never been happier to see his funny face. He's a charming little fur ball, and my my I love him.

A New Job.

I finally found myself a job, and not only a job, a job working for Yankee Candle! I'm really enjoying it, and it's nice to be back in the working world.

Celebrating 8 years together.

My boyfriend celebrated our 8 years together at Weston Super-Mare. We ate chips on the beach, played the games on the pier and generally had a lovely day, and I also proved once & for all that I am THE master of the claw machine, I've never put in more than £3 and always got something out, this time in the shape of a Fruit Ninja Watermelon which sits with my other claw machine winnings!

Paris.

September bought me & my boyfriends highly anticipated holiday to Paris. We were only there for 3 days but it was magical, and we managed to fit in a whole lot of site seeing. However the Eiffel Tour has to be the highlight of Paris for me, there really is something magical about it!

Disneyland Paris.

Spending my birthday in Disneyland is probably going to make every birthday I ever have from now on be hard to top! It was an amazing day, and it was magical. I spent the day on rides, eating sugary food, buying up half the souvenirs and generally having the best birthday I've ever had!

So those are my highlights of 2013, how about you lovely ladies?
